About Rainbow Dinner
The concept
Rainbow Dinner is a social LGBT+ offer, based on the concept called ”running dinner”, which has been known and practiced all over the world for many years (also under other names and varieties, such as ”flying dinner”, ”safari supper” and ”progressive dinner”). The concept is simple. The logistics behind it isn't…
You will be matched with a "travel buddy", with whom you "travel", from appetizer to main course to dessert in three different homes. Together, you will be tasked with either preparing a meal or to help another couple prepare the main course. For each meal you meet three other (new) couples. As the host of a Rainbow Dinner meal, you open your home for you, your travel buddy and six other rainbow people - to one meal (eight people in total). After dessert, everyone goes to an afterparty.
What can you expect?
Rainbow Dinner is about meeting a lot of new rainbow people, for three different meals (appetizer, main course and dessert) in three different homes. After the three dishes, there will be a joint afterparty, where you can reconnect with those you met during the evening - as well as all those who've also been to Rainbow Dinner meals around the city, but that you haven't met yet.
When you sign up for Rainbow Dinner, you will be matched with a travel companion who will accompany you through the evening until the afterparty. This will happen on the Thursday prior to the Rainbow Dinner event. Together, you will shop for and prepare (or help with) one of the three meals of the evening. If you or your travel buddy has signed up as a host, the meal will be served in the home of the host. If you and your travel buddy are tasked with serving the main course, you will get help from another couple, who will also be in charge of the main course (since the main course often requires slightly more than the other two meals).
Following the three meals of the evening, there will be an afterparty on a location that you will be informed about on the Thursday prior to the event.
The food and drinks during the evening (including at the afterparty) are at your own expense and in addition to the sign-up-fee to join the Rainbow Dinner event.
